There were no services per Don's request. Don was born November 28, 1948, to Alfred James Magee and Maxine Elizabeth Magee in Arlington, Washington. Don met his wife Debbie in the early 1960s as he worked for her uncle in Palmer, Alaska, in the Co-Op Produce Department. He worked in the root cellar. She sold her produce to the Co-Op. But, alas, Debbie was only 12 and Don was 15. He wasn't a dating person. It was not as interesting as it was to hunt, fish, mechanic on his cars and motorcycles or learn all he could about engines. They met again in 1968 at Colony Days in Palmer. They started dating and were married June 18, 1968. To this union they had two children: Michelle Lee Magee and Robert Allen Magee. Before the oil boom, they decided to move to Bonners Ferry, as his folks were moving there also in 1971. He worked at Kokanee Cedar Mill for two years, starting a logging career in 1973 thru 2005. In his spare time, he became a Bonners Ferry City Police Reserve Officer. Then moved over to the Boundary County Sheriff's Office for a few years. He and his wife also owned Naples Logger's Supply and, in 1980, they moved to Bonners Ferry and opened up Bonners Ferry Saw and Cycle with Peter Small for a few years. He decided to stay with his logging for the last 18 years of his working career. Don is survived by his wife Debbie, daughter Michelle Akers (John), son Robert (Karlene), mother Maxine Hayden, brother Tom (Cindy) Magee, grandchildren Matt, Katie, Kelsey Akers, Ryan (Jenna), Donald, David, Kaylin and Kaylene Magee and great grandchildren Rhia, Julie and Olivia Magee. |
