Elizabeth (Beth) Y. Ashton passed away peacefully at the Bonners Ferry Restorium on November 25, 2016.

Beth was born on July 18, 1920, to Dr. and Mrs. F.B. Young in Osage, Iowa. She lived in Waukee, Iowa, until her high school graduation in 1937. She moved to Moscow to attend the University of Idaho, where her uncle was a professor in the English department. She attended U of I while living with her uncle and grandmother.

It was at the University of Idaho where she met Joe Allegretti, whom she would marry in 1941 in Columbus, Mississippi. Their first son, Tom, was born in Belmar, New Jersey. In 1945 they moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, where their second son Phil was born. They moved to the Chicago area in 1950. Four years later, they moved to Laurel, Mississippi, then back to LaGrange, Illinois, shortly after. In 1960, it was off to the West Coast - Burney, California, for two years and then to Orange, California.

Joe died in 1968 and this is when Beth became a travel agent in La Habra, California. She opened her own travel agency, Let’s Go Travel, where she worked for 16 years. During this time, Beth traveled to six continents, 51 countries, and 47 states.

In 1972 she married Wes Ashton, and they lived in Anaheim, California, until retirement, when she moved to Naples in 1984. Beth relished her retirement, living among the mountains and lakes and loved gardening, painting and enjoying her family. She was a member of Naples Helping Hands, PEO, Art Club, and the United Methodist Church.

After Wes died in 1997, Beth moved to Paradise Valley, where she resided until she moved to the Restorium in March of this year.

Beth is survived by sons Tom Allegretti of Reno, Nevada, and Phil (Janice) Allegretti of Naples,  granddaughters Sarah (Anthony) Renaldi of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Lisa (Justin) McIntosh of Genesee, Idaho, great grandchildren Giana Elizabeth and Hudson Philip Renaldi, and lastly, her beloved dog, Roxy,  currently living with her eldest son Tom.
