Evelyn Lorriene Eby, 86, went to be with the
Lord on November 5, 2015. She passed away
peacefully in the Boundary Community Hospital
surrounded by her family. Funeral services were
held Saturday, Nov. 7th at the Bonners Ferry
Trinity Lutheran Church, with interment in
Grandview Cemetery. Evelyn was born June 16, 1929 in Halliday, North Dakota to George and Olga Johnson. In 1944, her family including 5 siblings, moved to Auburn, Washington. Shortly after, Evelyn moved to Naples, Idaho to live with her grandparents, Fred and Lina Braton. On August 1, 1946, she married Donald Eby in Libby, Montana. They made Bonners Ferry their home, where they raised their eight children. Early in Evelyn's adult life she worked at the hospital sharing her caring spirit. Following her work at the hospital, Evelyn spent many years baking at the Boundary County school district in the lunch room where she became affectionately known as the lunch lady. Throughout life, Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family, opening her home to large family gatherings. She loved knitting and gardening. Late in life Evelyn could often be found out working in her yard. She was a faithful member of the Trinity Lutheran Church where she served often and attended Women's Circle. Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents George and Olga Johnson, husband Donald, son Russell, sisters Norma, Darlene, Vivian, and brothers Caroll and Victor. She is survived by children Bernice Mesenbrink; Willard and Sandy Eby; Larry and Hazel Eby; Joyce and David Moseley; Darrell Eby; Diane and John Fry, Mark and Pauline Eby; Corey and Christa Eby; 23 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. |
