Karen
Lucille (Fredericksen) Corbeil passed away
October 14, 2015 in her son's home in Westworth
Village, Texas. Karen battled dementia for over
a decade and is finally at rest. Karen was born in Bonners Ferry, Idaho on August 19, 1944 to Orval and Nada (Lannigan) Fredericksen. Karen graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1962. Karen attended nursing school in Spokane, Washington, where she met her first husband, Jerry Gramke, who was stationed at Fairchild AFB. Karen traveled with Jerry in the Air Force, living in Germany, New York, Illinois, Mississippi and Texas. Their son, Jerry Lee Gramke, Jr. was born in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1968. Karen divorced Jerry and moved back to Bonners Ferry in 1972. Karen married Dave Aller in 1975 and soon gave birth to another son, Christopher David Aller. Karen worked for Dr. Coram and at the Bank of Idaho before following in her father's footsteps and joining the United States Postal Service in 1976. Karen worked as a substitute clerk in Naples before becoming a clerk in Bonners Ferry for a few years. Karen became the Postmaster of the Porthill Post Office in 1982, where she worked until retiring in 2005. The Post Office was a major part of Karen's life and the amount of people that she knew and considered as friends because of the Post Office was astonishing. Karen divorced David Aller in 1987. Karen married for a final time in 1989, to Robert (Bob) Corbeil. Karen and Bob divorced in 1997. Remaining close, Karen and Bob lived in Porthill until Karen moved to Texas to be cared for by her son, Chris, in 2014. Karen is preceded in death by her infant son, Jeffery, in 1965; father, Orval, in 2005; and mother, Nada, in 2010. Karen is survived by her brother Gary Fredericksen (Ardyn), Palm Springs, California; brother Mark Fredericksen (Karla), Seattle, Washington; sister Patti Colt, Arlington, Texas; son Jerry Gramke (Lori), Charleston, South Carolina; son Christopher Aller (Tiffany), Westworth Village, Texas; four grandchildren, four nieces, two nephews, and many extended relatives and friends. A memorial service is planned for June 2016, to reunite Karen with her parents in the Fredericksen family plot at Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry. |
