Friday September 4, 2015, Florence Marie Reed
went home to be with her Lord and Savior and to
be reunited with her beloved husband Jake T.
Reed. The funeral service will be held at Bridge
Way Assembly of God, North of Bonners Ferry, on
Saturday September 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Florence was born in Maher, Colorado on October 18, 1927 to E. Harry and Josephine Briggs. Her father owned a sawmill and large family farm. There she met and later married her husband Jacob T. Reed. They were married in Grand Junction, Colorado on June 24, 1950. They had 4 children: Daughter Harriet “Ann” Schroyer of Winot, California, Sons Harry Reed, Joseph (Darla) Reed of Bonners Ferry, and Mark (Shari) Reed of Priest River, Idaho. She has 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandson. They bought a farm in Sandpoint, Idaho where they raised pigs and milk cows. In 1973 they moved to Bonners Ferry where they started a Church of God in 1973. They were the pastors of the church in Bonners Ferry until 1981. Then they moved back to Utah to pastor a church there until 1984. They moved to Naples, Idaho in 1984. She lost her beloved husband in August of 1990, but she continued to be an active person, working for the Forest Service, mowing lawns for the school districts, and working for the hospital. She finally decided to retire, from the hospital, at the age of 84. She was a member of Bridge Way Assembly of God. |
