Bonners Ferry. Dale was born in Spokane, Washington on August 11, 1949. His parents were Warren and Nellie Pattee. Dale had a passion for learning. After graduating from University High School in Spokane, he enrolled at Gonzaga University. There he met his future wife, Mary Hueber, while they were both students. He and Mary graduated from Gonzaga in 1971, and were married that same year. Dale earned a degree in Electrical Engineering, while Mary graduated with a degree in Communications. Dale and Mary raised two boys, Ray, now 39 and Doug, 37. They were married 43 ½ years. Dale enjoyed success in the business world. He began working part-time for the Kaiser Aluminum Company while a college student, and after graduation spent nearly nearly 30 years with the company. Upon retirement, Dale and Mary founded their own consulting business, catering to aluminum and steel companies. They traveled the country before retiring a second time, finally settling in Bonners Ferry. For those who knew and loved Dale, he was a good, kind and generous man. He became a Catholic in 2001, and served his parish as a lector and Eucharistic Minister. Dale underwent heart surgery one week before he died. Because of unexpected medical issues, he died as a result of post-surgery complications. Dale’s family deeply appreciates the staff at Kootenai Medical Center for providing him with the best care possible. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Dale is survived by his wife Mary; sons Ray Maurice, and Douglas Donald; and brother Dean of Spokane, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Nellie Pattee.
