Linda Lee Charpied passed away September 30,
2013, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur
d'Alene. She leaves a community of friends to
mourn her loss. Linda was born April 30, 1942, in Ventura, California, to James and Maria (Moore) Lane. Her parents gave her a rich childhood full of Italian culture, amazing learning opportunities, and a strong love for our country. Linda's work ethic brought her to many diverse fields. She was an actress, registered nurse, medical office nurse, carpenter extraordinaire, log home builder, and auto mechanic. She loved to be involved in building projects. She'd bring the tools and expertise to the job. Yet, she was a vibrant, beautiful woman who enjoyed her femininity. Linda, and her beloved husband , Michael, came up to Boundary County from Ojai, California, 21 years ago to build a new life. They remodeled a home in the Boulder Creek area. She was so pleased to do the masonry work in her new home. Michael was a mechanic and Linda worked at the Boundary Community Hospital. They had a good, rich life and loved this area and the people in it. Michael passed away in 2007. Her love of the Lord brought Linda to the First Baptist Church in Bonners Ferry, where she was a true sister in the faith. Linda's kind outspokenness and practical thoughts were a welcome haven. She was a patient listener, yet a clear speaking friend too. Her sense of humor was infectious. We'll miss Linda's strong sense of patriotism and her ire when people disrespected her country. Linda loved her various dogs. Her "boys" became the joy of her home-life, constant companions, and an unending source of amusement. We were blessed to have known Linda and know that she has her wish fulfilled to be reunited with Michael and the Lord. She is survived by her dear friends in Boundary County, and family in California and Montana. Pastor Richard Dugger will officiate at Memorial Services on at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 17, at the First Baptist Church on El Paso Street in Bonners Ferry. |
