William
Daniel Mulvaney, beloved father, grandfather and
great grandfather passed into his heavenly home
on August 7, 2012. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 11, at St. Ann Catholic Church with Father Joseph Blattner as celebrant and Wayne Crooks and Joe Nicholas as assisting deacons. Visitation will begin at noon Friday, followed by rosary and parish vigil at 7 p.m. at the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. Inurnment and committal will be at Grandview Cemetery. Born February 13, 1925, in Casper, Wyoming, son of James and Ethel Mulvaney, he was the sixth of seven children. William, known to most as Bill, grew up in Ely, Nevada. He enjoyed a childhood of riding and wrangling horses across the sage. Those days were some of his fondest memories. After serving in the Army as a medic during World War II, he came north with his parents in 1946. Bill married Olive Carrither, May 11, 1950, in St Ann's Catholic Church in Bonners Ferry. Most of their married life was spent at their home outside Moyie Springs, raising their six children. He was employed at the Moyie Lumber Mill for thirty-two years and later at the Priest River lumber mill as a grader for a few years. He also worked at the Rocky Mountain Academy, Bonners Ferry, for a few years before he retired. Bill was an active member of the community, working on the Skin Creek Water Association board and he assisted in the maintenance of the water system. He and Olive grew produce in their garden to supplement the local Food Bank. He was a sketch artist, and has passed along to family many Western cowpoke-influenced drawings. He and Olive enjoyed woodworking and provided many loved gifts each year with this hobby. Bill is survived by his children: Ellen and Wayne Crooks, Penny and Terry Pollard, Betty and Steven Jones, Patrick and Judy Mulvaney, Mike and Teresa Mulvaney, and Katy and Kenneth McGee, and his 20 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Bill loved life and lived his faith as a man of integrity and honor. He is loved and will be terribly missed.
