Nan Margaret Flannigan, 66, passed away at the
Boundary County Nursing Home in Bonners Ferry
September 30, 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial
was held October 5 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Nan was born on October 25, 1944, in Troy, New York. She is survived by her husband, Jim Flannigan, who shared their lives for fifty years, her daughter Maureen Krueger who resides in Bothell, Washington, with her husband Keith and son Keanu, and her daughter Colleen Mitchell who resides in Montgomery, Alabama, with her husband Jason and their sons Cole and Luke. She is also survived by her mother Helen Fisher and her three siblings; her sisters JoAnn Tarbay and Mary Lee Rogers and brother Michael Fisher. Nan moved to Idaho with Jim over forty years ago from New York and her heart has always belonged to the people and beauty of Boundary County. She worked for the Forest Service in Western Montana and was a dedicated school bus driver with the Boundary County School District, where she touched the lives of many students. Nan shared her love of the outdoors through backpacking and hiking with 4-H kids. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Ann's Catholic Church and a member of the choir and Altar Society. Nan completed beautiful quilts and they will be a comforting reminder of her love for us in the years to come. Her life was full of many adventures - she scuba dived, skied, participated in fun runs, completed triathlons, sailed, traveled to the comers of the world with Jim, and loved her family so very much. We are all blessed to have been a part of her wonderful life. Although we miss Nan dearly, we are so happy that she is in a better place now and is at peace. Heaven has a new angel. The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the St. Ann’s Catholic Church Family and friends are invited to sign Nan’s book at www.bonnersferryfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. |
