Quick blast of winter expected to bring in October

It appears that October is apt to come in with a wintry roar, as a sudden cool down and rain are expected for the final day of September, the first day of October brings even cooler temps and a good chance of thunderstorms and the first work week of the tenth month bring temperatures near freezing and a possibility of snow. According to the National Weather Service, the high temperature Saturday is only expected to reach 58 degrees under increasingly cloudy skies, and there'll be a 20-percent chance of light showers into Sunday, when thundershowers are likely and we could see snow fall creep down to 5,500 feet. The chance of thundershowers showers is at 70-percent Sunday afternoon, diminishing to 50-percent Sunday night and into Monday. The thermometer is expected to dip to about 37 degrees Sunday night and into Monday morning, then down to 33-degrees Monday night into Tuesday. Mountain snow is likely through Tuesday afternoon, and skies are expected to clear Tuesday night, with Wednesday dawning sunny and cool, with a daytime high of 62 and overnight low into the low to mid-40s. Partly cloudy skies are expected through the following weekend, with daytime highs in the upper 50s to low 60s and overnights lows in the low 40s to low- to mid-30s.
