Snow advisory issued

The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a winter weather advisory for snow for an area including Bonners Ferry, Eastport, Sandpoint and Priest River, which is in effect from 9 p.m. today to 3 p.m. Monday.

Snow accumulations of two to four inches in the valleys tonight into Sunday and one to three inches Sunday night into Monday. The mountains can expect a total of six to 11 inches.

Snow will develop this evening and continue through Sunday. The snow may taper off Sunday evening, but redevelop late Sunday night into Monday morning. Snow will decrease by Monday afternoon.

Roadways are expected to become snow covered and slippery. Motorists should prepare for winter driving conditions, especially during the late night and morning hours.
