Governor’s Awards in the Arts nominations sought
February 6, 2018
The Idaho Commission on the Arts, on behalf of Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter, is seeking nominations for the 2018 Governor’s Awards in the Arts. The awards recognize and encourage excellence in the arts in Idaho and stimulate and support awareness of the arts throughout the state.

Nominees must be Idaho residents, businesses based in Idaho, or organizations or communities that have, through creative accomplishments or distinguished service, made a significant contribution to the cultural life of Idaho.

Before submitting a nomination, please review the list of prior recipients.  The award cannot be received twice. But if, as hoped, you are nominating one of the many worthy in Boundary County, you can save time. Since the inception of the award in 1970, none have been presented to an artist or patron in Idaho's northernmost county. A mere three Awards in the Arts have been given awards in Bonner County.

Nominations must include a brief description of why the nominee merits the award, 3-5 letters of recommendation, and any supporting materials such as magazine and newspaper articles, resumes or artist statements.

Examples of artwork are strongly encouraged for the Excellence in the Arts and Traditional Arts categories.

Collect these materials in advance and have them ready to uploaded. Once submitted, the form cannot be edited or resubmitted. Need technical help? Contact John McMahon at john.mcmahon@arts.idaho.gov or (208) 334-2119.

Nominations are due by April 27, 2018
