Maggi the Cow visits second graders

April 16, 2014
Recently the ladies of Farm Bureau and the Boundary Soil Conservation District took the Moving Agriculture in the Classroom trailer to visit the second graders at Mt Hall, Naples and Valley View Elementary Schools to teach them “where their food comes from."

Maggi the cow was a big hit with the kids. They got to milk her and even make butter.

They also learn about growing and harvesting wheat and then get to grind wheat kernels into flour and make pancakes.

Sandy Daniel and Rene’ Riddle have been doing this for three years now and they enjoy it as much as the kids do. You can see Maggi the cow at the Earth Day event on April 26 at the Boundary County fairgrounds.
