A Wasilla man arrested Sunday morning for allegedly sexually assaulting another man was out on $5,000 bail for repeatedly failing to register as a sex offender.

Quaraliak "Dominic" Manumic, 28, was taken into custody and charged in for failure to register as a sex offender October 26, and held in jail until his release on bail November 10.

He was charged with multiple counts of second degree sexual abuse of a minor November 10, 2004, and convicted on one count June 29, 2005, after pleading no contest.

According to Alaska State Troopers, the latest incident was reported at 3:49 a.m. December 8. Troopers responded to Manumik's home in Wasilla's Williwaw subdivision, where they allegedly found the victim, 26 years old, unconscious and partially nude.

Troopers determined that Manumic had beaten and sexually assaulted the man, and charged him with second-degree sexual assault with penetration and two counts of fourth degree assault.

Manumik remains in custody at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in lieu of $500,000 bond.
