Borough Public Works Director

Dense fog warning for Matanuska and Susitna Valleys Monday morning until 9 am, according to the National Weather Service. Visibility less than 1/4 mile.

Freezing fog has been reported in the core area of the Borough. Alaska DOT reported patches of black ice and freezing fog on the Glenn and Parks highways.

Warm temperatures on Sunday made salt and sand very effective on icy roads, but motorists and pedestrians should expect slick driveways, parking lots, and sidewalks.

Light snow may be on top of ice as well.

Borough road crews will continue to monitor roads overnight and will sand, chip, serrate where needed.

Please give yourself extra time in these hazardous conditions on Monday morning.
