An indoor commercial pot growing operation at a residence on
Escondido Avenue in Wasilla was raided and shut down Wednesday. At about 1:30p.m., investigators with the Alaska State Troopers Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit and The Alaska Bureau of Investigation served a search warrant on the home, seizing 170 live marijuana plants and about five pounds of processed marijuana valued at around $60,000. They also found three minor children living in the home, resulting in additional charges. Charges for fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor are being forwarded to the Palmer District Attorney's Office, and no names have yet been released. |
