Free lunch to help build playground

August 8, 2013
Everyone is invited to a free lunch being hosted by hosted by the Bonners Ferry Herald for Boundary County Parks and Rec between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday, August 23, in downtown Bonners Ferry. It's their second annual block party to continue raising funds for the Memorial Park Project to build an amazing new playground at the Boundary County fairgrounds.

This year's block party is expected to feed around 200 people, but more would be much merrier. While the lunch is free, donations will be most appreciated, and there will be a silent auction for some great items on a list that is ever growing.

All the money raised at this event will go towards the Parks & Recreation Memorial Park Project, and to add bonus to benefit, Panhandle State Bank will match it, dollar for dollar.

Organizers are still looking for donations, and you don't have to be a business to give; handmade treasures, art, services and more are welcome.

Donations and silent auction items are being accepted at the Bonners Ferry Herald, 7183 Main Street.
