NIC offering esthetician course

A free information session on the North Idaho College esthetician course will be offered from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, August 9 at the North Idaho College Workforce Training Center in Post Falls.

Estheticians primarily focus on care of the skin, encompassing nonsurgical procedures promoting the health and beauty of skin including facials, waxing and makeup. Graduates of the course will be able to apply for the written and practical exams to obtain an Idaho state license.

The comprehensive 15-week course consists of classroom instruction and practical experience through the student-operated clinic.

Those who complete the course can choose from a variety of jobs, including skin care specialist, spa professional, salon owner, body treatment technician, product representative, retail specialist, or makeup artist.

The course begins September 5.
