Rex fans needed tonight for video

June 4, 2012
A film crew will be at the Rex Theater in downtown Bonners Ferry this evening, Monday, June 4, to film a promotional video, and everyone who loves the Rex is encouraged to take part.

If you're a little camera shy, you can be part of the "crowd scene," and the more people who show up, the better. Filming that scene begins at 6:30 p.m. is expected to take about an hour.

Those who REALLY love the Rex can also take a speaking role in the video, going in front of the camera and telling the world why you love the theater, be it "I love the popcorn," "the people who work there are fantastic," or "When I was a kid, I remember ..." Anything positive and promotional that you'd like the world to know about our historic Rex.

Filming for the "talkie" portion of the video begins right after the crowd scenes are shot, and should also last about an hour.

Filming is expected to wrap at about 8:30 p.m.

The people who take part, the "stars" of the video, won't get paid, but the owners of the Rex will show their appreciation by publishing the film credits (the names of the participants) both on the official Rex Theater web site, http://www.rexbonnersferry.com, and on the Rex Theater Facebook page.

This is also a great opportunity for aficionados and students of film, as you'll not only get to see a video being made, but you can hang around afterward to ask any questions you may have and to "talk shop."

Everyone is invited to take part, just show up at the Rex, 7222 Main Street in downtown Bonners Ferry.
