Hearing set on new county zoning ordinance

Boundary County Commissioners will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2011, in the Extension Office meeting room to hold public hearing on the proposed Boundary County Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance, as amended by the Planning and Zoning Commission.

 

The Boundary County Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance establishes local land use law as required by the Idaho Land Use Planning Act, in conformance with the Boundary County Comprehensive Plan, adopted in July, 2008, and thus affects everyone who lives or owns property in the county outside the city limits of Bonners Ferry and Moyie Springs.

 

Copies of the proposed ordinance are available on the Boundary County website, www.boundarycountyid.org, at the Boundary County Library, and at the Planning and Zoning Office, Room 16 at the county courthouse, 6452 Kootenai Street, Bonners Ferry, (208) 267-7212.

 

Participation in this public hearing is encouraged!

 

The deadline for written comment and material is 5 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2011. Written comment may be mailed to Boundary County Planning and Zoning, PO Box 419, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805, faxed to (208) 267-1205, or emailed to planning@boundarycountyid.org. Written comment will be accepted at public hearing provided the material is read into the record. There may be a five (5) minute limit per person on verbal testimony.
