Where's the info?

I was wondering what the county “PIO” (Public Information Officer) duties are? The title itself seems self-explanatory. Or so I thought. As many in the county do, I listen to the scanner. Yesterday, July 19, I hear Search & Rescue called out. I looked all over the various websites for an update or, as it says in the title, information. I could not find any. This is just one example of many recent county events. So, if information to the public is the job, where is it being put?
