Photo of Hall Mountain area drilling
September 2, 2014
To The Editor:

Attached is a photo of the core drilling rig on Harvey Mountain, drilling test holes for the MMG mine.

One of the drillers said this was the fourth hole, and it would be about 1,000 feet deep. Other holes were up to 1,900 feet deep.

This was taken on August 29, at about the 3 mile marker on the Harvey Mountain road.

(Editor's Note: Thanks to Mr. Jordan for providing this photograph. This past June, the issue of the test drilling on area Forest Service land near Hall Mountain became somewhat controversial, due to both the drilling itself and the way the project was publicized--or not publicized--in our area.
